Kitchen Remodel

THE BACKSTORY:
A local builder that we had worked with previously referred this couple. At first they were interested in a kitchen remodel, but then the project expanded to an upper level renovation including the kitchen remodel, entry refresh, mudroom update, half bath, living room and multiple bedroom refreshes as well.

The husband is an engineer at one of the automotive companies in the area and was attracted to our processes, stages and phases of design. He also appreciated our FFS (Final Finishes Sheet also known as a Spec Sheet for most builders). The wife was more interested in our design expertise and ability to pull together everything that she loved and create a large entertaining kitchen that she had been dreaming about.

PROJECT CHALLENGES:
Covid. The project began when Covid started. The design phase was not affected by Covid and its precautions/mandates, however once the construction phase started we ran into a number of issues beyond our control. Supply and demand, shipping and material costs all increased (seemed like overnight). Thankfully, the clients understood that these circumstances were out of Clover’s control, but because of Covid the construction phase took much longer than the normal kitchen remodel.

WHAT MAKES THIS KITCHEN REMODEL SPECIAL:
Lake living and easy maintenance, plus a huge gathering place was important to this client. After opening a wall to enlarge the floor plan their kitchen became perfect for entertaining! From beautiful white quartz tops, 10’ island with a 3’’ mitered edge as a showpiece, to the stunning stark dark coffee/wine bar this kitchen remodel pulled out all the stops. The materials and finishes selected were durable, bold and beautiful, but let’s be clear, there was no compromise on look to make their dreams come to life!
